Workshop Overview:

Social skills are essential for all individuals, and for students with ASD these do not come naturally. School is considered to be one of the key environments for students to acquire and practice these skills.  Using hands-on activities and case-studies, you will have the opportunity to learn and explore essential strategies that will align with the curriculum capabilities, support Social Emotional Learning goals and be applied in your classroom practice.

This workshop will allow participants to:

  • Understand the social emotional learning needs of students with ASD;
  • Work with strategies which are inclusive and supportive of ASD students;
  • Evaluate the utility of strategies for their context.
