Self-regulation: Strategies that Reduce Challenges (F-12) Ballarat, March 2018

In this interactive workshop participants will:

  • Understand what self-regulation is through research and real-case examples;
  • Explore self-regulation and Sensory Processing Disorders, ASD, ADHD, and trauma;
  • Learn about co-regulation and how our relationships can support regulation; 
  • Experience simple self-regulation strategies to help respond to difficult behaviour;
  • Discover research that provides foundational strategies to support social development, and learn how to help students’ social engagement;
  • Hear ways to help students respond to their environment (including sensitivities), and deal better with transitions;
  • Investigate ways to support attention and cognition;
  • Learn how self-regulation impacts students’ self-esteem, attitude and self-belief;
  • Experience strategies that support students to regulate their emotions;
  • Use their learning to tailor strategies to meet the individual needs of students.
